The Boys at the Packard Reunion

Ok-so we just have one boy, but here's the the fun stuff he did

Kadon spent most of his days playing on the banks of the river

He enjoyed hanging out with Uncle Jason.

And he got a little bit funky at the family dance.

Kadon's Baptism

On June 6, 2009 Kadon was baptized. It was fun to have the family all together.

Belt Graduation

It took Kadon a couple months, but he finally was able to graduate from his white belt to his yellow.

The kids could make up their own kick combination as they walked to get their new belt. Kadon was very excited about this part.

Field Day 2009

Kadon picked out his outfit, and I just asked if he was sure he wanted to wear that. I'm still not sure if that was a good parental choice or not.

We need to find the sport where falling down is required.

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day this year. We went up to Ogden with Nate's family to decorate the family graves. Then we went to a park for a picnic lunch.

Piper wore that hat for all of 5 min. It turned out to be the only time she left it on her head all summer.

Kadon's Dance Festival

It was pretty hot that day.

Kadon's second grade did dances to various versions of "Polly Wolly Doodle."

Kadon had to hold hands with a girl--he wasn't too excited about that.

The Dragon

Here is the dragon in all its glory.

A teacher held up the head, and then first graders held up the hula hoops in the body. Then the dragon wove through all the other first graders doing a Chinese ribbon dance.

Painting the Dragon

So Kadon's teacher from last year asked me if I could help her make a Chinese Dragon for her class to use for the dance festival. So true to form, I took that idea and went to town. Soon I was building a wire model for the teachers to paper mache, sewing sheets to hula hoops, and ironing on scales. Needless to say, the dragon became a much bigger project than she had envisioned, but we had a blast making it. Kyrie even got to help paint it.

PS: stay tuned for pictures of the finished project coming tomorrow!

Ariel has a tail

Kyrie's modeling her new swimming suit. Little did I know swimming suits would become Kyrie's summer uniform. She would often wear two or three different ones a day.

Snuggle Bugs

Kyrie fell asleep watching a show in our bed. Piper decided to crawl around until she found a comfy spot to sleep also.
